The Infinite Sea
When tickling feathers of conscience
had been innocent they floated
on the breast of the ocean.
Foaming youth formed dreams
on moon wound thoughts
and lighted eyes poured
the wisdom of a dream
into the bosom of an infinite sea.
A soul marooned in the depthlessness
of human maturity;
coveting thirst, desiring hunger
with unquenchable heart.
Soulful eyes forever seeking
young dreams on the bosom
of the infinite sea.
A sinking soul
resists the tide,watching timid
as dreams crest and recede.
A pregnant conscience
tarnished by greed can not float
on the bosom of the sea,
the infinite sea.
