The Inevitable Path

There is a path all must take-
exalted queens to lowly maids-
rich and poor-
cabbages and kings.

It is the path through life-
from birth to death that all must trod-
and strive our best to make the best
of the lot we have been given.
To leave-
this world a better place-
than when we entered in-
and for our progeny an honorable legacy.

Not necessarily riches or fame,
though these can be honorable,
if neither coveted nor pursued obsessively,
but Christian ethics-
including love, hope and charity-
and empathy for all of God’s creations
great and small

Great words of spiritual wisdom in your well penned verse, Curtis. Your rhythm and flow are excellent! Enjoyed this! :)
