The Incredible Clever Me

In the wink of an eye
Half a century has gone,
Did I stop to smell the roses,
Was I jubulent in song?

Did I succeed at anything
Or master a chosen art?
Oh at times I was incredible,
Sometimes even smart.

I've had it all, and lost it
Then had it all again,
I've sold my soul to the devil,
And watched him suck me in.

If I could do it over
I'd do it all exact,
There would be nothing left undone
Everything would be in tack.

I'd climb the highest mountain,
And swim the deepest sea,
The world would stop and notice
The Incredible, Clever Me.
