The Impossible Fairy
She awoke with such urgency that eyes popped open;
Her meager frame had hushed in the stillness.
Her vast eyes fixed on something only her imagination,
Her inspiration and curiosity could truly believe.
The magic of it unmasked giant flecks of glitter
Being thrown in the sky with bursting gold explosions
Flaring and flashing forth, free and simultaneously
To reveal every small girls wish come true.
Wiping her eyes to assure her reality
She waved her arms with an invisible scepter
Warding the ruling of such a grand and magical sight.
Her rhapsodic smile a dead giveaway to her awakening.
And what might this vision be?
That grew from the source of blessed discovery
From a child's heart?
It was divine, blissful and supernatural.
It was the spark and figment of all things being possible.
It was the fantastic realm of the re-creation of one's world
Through the untold sorcery of make believe!
To this very day,
After many moons and stars and dreaming
I still find my enchantment.
In times when the world is a little crazy-
When the realities of life's challenges need a vacation.
When once again I can revisit my childhood wizardry
Where all things are possible.
Where dreams that were sequestered by aging
Can be delightfully conjured
To issue forth and find my November Twinkle Fairy.
