The Importance of Lines

The importance of lines…

Ingrained, etched, immovable in their presence
A map that leads nowhere, except to navigate my life’s journey
Some in plain sight, laid bare, causing wonder in others about the road I’ve travelled upon
Others covered, enveloped in shame, the darkest of secrets
Is it to protect society from my form or to protect my spirit from the judgements of society?
Each line earned, for each line has a purpose
A reflection of love
A reflection of sorrow
A refection of laughter
A reflection of pain
The importance of lines…
The truest reflection of me.
