The Illness

The illness

Diabetes is not a dance in wonderland
compounded with heart disease.
The diabetes play mind games from feeling high
the top of the world to sink back to fatigue
that can be deadly.
Someday´s it is painful to walk and the pain
is not visible but it follows its own evil paths
that insulin cannot assuage.
He never liked sweets except for a cola mixed
with Rom he ate plenty of veggies and meat
yet he got diabetes, and there is little point in asking why?
On the internet, he gets mail from those who
have found a cure, they are snake-oil salesmen
and best to avoid,
But it makes him annoyed that there unscrupulous people
who exploit the ill for a big profit.
As Trumps so aptly said. “it is what it is.”
