The I of the Storm
The I of the storm
I search for the storm, the source of the spinning
those pillaging hurricanes blurring the eye
That cyclone of fear, the tempest beginning,
with rain battered teardrops I can’t help but cry
The rumbling ocean, destructive and tidal,
while flood ravaged shorelines are drowning the hope
Surging erratic and poised suicidal,
surrounded in darkness with no light to cope
The torrent of pain that keeps raging nearer
as thunder clouds form deeply under the skin
I now see the storm as I look in the mirror,
reflecting the cracks ever growing within
