Also named the hummingbird vine
the hummingbirds adore this bud
it is a perennial beauty 

a star shaped flower so divine; 
with varied shades it loves to flood
the garden, she is so lovely 

that the bearded thornbills pine 
for her sweet nectar summer sud 
and love, she is a sight to see  

This flower blossoms with ol' shine 
inviting him for gentle scud 
across the gentle folds with glee; 

She consigns her candied nectar,  
to a hummingbird injector.

Your poem would be pretty painted in water colors Mystic Rose Rose. I love to write about birds. This ruby throated acrobat is the only bird that can fly backwards, neat. Such a pretty poem that painted such delightful images. I am glad to have found it.

‘I’m awaiting a seeded mat from amazon, which has seeds for blooms hummers & butterflies are supposed to love. So hope this vine will be part of it! Sounds fantastic as you’ve penned it. You’ ve been very sensual in your presented nature scene/images. I must google bearded thornbills too. A poem of wonders to begin my day. Thank you!xox

I read that in contests you should not put in any details, at least that's what Constance wrote. Is not that flower a hibiscus?
