The Human Fridge

Another hot day
to feed our new human fridge
extra kilowatts~
inside, we keep to our cool,
outside, the street keeps cooking.

You keep every word
on the coldest shelf you own,
nothing ever spoils~
not laughter, not fain regrets,
nor the love waiting to thaw.

Perhaps there the same
seeking somewhere cool enough
to survive the day~
while someone else waits outside
hoping we'll open the door.
