The Hot Summer Sun

The hot summer sun burns
But nowhere can I hide
My path has no respite
Finally a small wood
I rest in shaded glade
And take a while to cool

Looking ever on
I see the heat haze,
Baked by long hot days
The footpath wobbles
But this is my route

Time waits no more
Forced I move on
I must reach my
Destination

So I walk
Just keep on
I endure

The hot
Summer

Sun
