The Horror of My Empty Soul

The horror of my empty soul!
lost but for the wanting
Evermore to wish upon
a love that is most daunting

For if in truth that love doth speak
of valor and good will
Shall I leave my cold lost soul
alone in darkness still?

Shall I dine upon this task
and chance my soul to bleed?
Upon the threshold of the world
to risk my empty need?

The horror of my empty soul!
What shall my choice now be?
Lost but for the wanting?
Or my wanting soul set free?
