The Horizon

The horizon, a fixture of bright lights A feeling of peace and calm comes blazon Skyscrapers so tall, which carries delights The horizon Outline of the buildings glow greatly on They sure grow up to the highest of heights To observe this limelight my heart’s not down Lights bring compassion, does not harbor plight The yellow lights glow best right before dawn There’s no mystery, this is the best sight The horizon Russell Sivey Form Roundel

Dear Russell, What a beautifully crafted Roundel! I always used to watch the lights of the NY horizon from a peak in New Jersey and they were breathtaking, much as you describe in your beautiful poem. I love the way you ended the poem with the lights we see just before sunrise. It's truly an amazing site here on the beach. Awesome work and thank you for reading my poetry even though I am not able to return all comments. You are special, Rusty! Love, Carolyn

Looks like a good poem describing an urban setting.
