The Home They Built

They wanted to build a home
On a piece of land they found
Knew it had to be built
Right on solid ground

First the foundation
Had to be laid
Had to be solid
As it was made
Had to be built with trust, love,
Faithfulness, honesty, and more
Before they even started thinking
Of laying the first floor
The corner pieces were to be solid
Stood for something important, too
One was Christ, Father, Holy Spirit,
And the last was for us two

Once the floor was laid, walls up to stay
Their life was to begin in a beautiful way
The house was decorated with laughter, love, joy, peace, too
Roof was finally put up,
Stood for protection and guidance
For problems between the two
Smoke out the chimney, stood for
Evil that could come through
That's why it's important to have
A solid foundation built, too

They knew without a doubt
Nothing or no one could take away
Together they could make it
In their home, where they stayed

Many memories made there ever day
Now that's what I call a beautiful way
To start a new life today
