The Holiday Is Over

The holiday is over,
all the dishes are washed,
leftover food put away,
all my guests have left,
the house is quiet,
except for kitty
who is purring away
on my lap as my
snoring wakes her up,
stretches her legs,
jumps to the floor
and runs to the door,
one more chore.

A lovely poem, Sonia. A fun reminder that it will soon already be over.

It seems with pets, there will always be one more chore. : ) Nicely done Sonia.

Chris, thank you for commenting on my poem. It is true that having pets, there will always be another chore to do. ~ Sonia
