The Highest Accolade

My highest ever accolade By my daughter to me was paid When she sweetly said to me “Mama, I love your poetry Now that we have some free time Read to me one of your rhymes And Mama, you write so well You have great stories to tell But Mama, please write of me That would make me so happy.” The one who is my heart and soul With this comment made me whole What sweeter praise can I hear Than those from her lips so dear My daughter is my pride and joy I wrongly guessed it was a boy But God gave me a precious girl She’s Mama’s most precious pearl The highest accolade for me Is that she loves my poetry! It means so much more coming from someone so close to you. I find myself apprehensive a lot of times and don't find my writings all that interesting to my family and friends. But once in a great while, someone will pop out of no where just to say they enjoyed reading them. It's an indescribable feelings, but it never seizes to make my day! Really, really well penned!

I'm in a family of poets, so...it's not like "WOW...how awesome was that!" However, now they are taking me a bit more seriously thanks to Poetry Soup. You are right, Timothy, it is an indescribable feeling of sheer euphoria! :) Thanks for stopping by.

Kids will say anything for an ice cream lol. Though I'm sure she means this, she's a lucky girl. Take care, Richard

Richard, she is 18 years old. I don't think she would really ask for ice cream seeing as she is living in Cyprus...on her own! ;) You had to shoot me down, eh? I forgive you. Don't I always. Thanks for the compliment at the end.
