Notes About The Poem

Sometimes love just writes itself, and this was one of those times.  It's not too hard to write about a feeling you either hope to have or had.

The Hidden Mysteries of Love

The Hidden mysteries of love
   is written across my face.
Every time you come into the room.

The atmosphere changes when I look at you.
My heart beats faster and a melody plays out
   in my head.
A melody that expresses the warmth you bring
and butterflies arise inside of me.
All this when I see you.

When you walk in the room, I see a spotlight.
   shining from above.
Pride swells up in me, just knowing I found someone
   special, you.

What my eyes see, I can't express with words.
Sweat forms upon my brow, as you take my breath away.

And then a smile explodes across my face.
I feel like a school boy with his first crush.
Except this isn't a crush, this is real.
This isn't something just physical, or a fly by night
   encounter.
This is real, this is deeper, this is us.
The hidden mystery of love,
   is two people forever.
