The Hidden Books
School books hold little appeal
For the creative, the zingy, the wise and the zany
They are for people who like to file.
For people who sleep all through the night
But for those of us
Who stay awake listening to our dream
Envisioning worlds such as most have never seen
The books we need are the ones well hidden
The ones we are banned from
Not easily given
The fiction books!
They are high on the shelf
Contraband, guarded by a cosmic elf.
If you are truly wild, and I think you are.

We can ride straight up there
On a holiday star…..
