The Hellish Fiends Creeps On the Ground

LXXX

The war is won, the battles just begun
The hellish fiends with stealth creeps on the ground
Yet feigns so high and bright just as the sun
That will to have their souls in darkness bound

Then sounds a roar to melt our hearts in grief
To make us weep in shame and mock our tears
By faithless fears that turn to disbelief
Our precious life to spend in wasted years

I hear a mighty cry, “thus saith the Lord”
Thy armor wear and bear the shield of faith
Unsheath thy sword, it is God’s holy word
Defeat the horde of evil filled with hate

I pray thee not thyself alone assail
That we might ‘gainst the gates of hell prevail
