The Hellbender
Nobody should be afraid of a creature called a "hellbender".
It's a big amphibian related to the salamander.
If you see one in a river, there's no need for alarm.
This is a gentle creature that can do you no harm.
They inhabit some rivers in eastern North America,
A good portion of them are found in the Susquehanna.
This is a river that flows through Maryland and Pennsylvania.
This species was undeserving of its name.
They are almost endangered, and that is a shame.
I thank wikipedia.org for valuable information I obtained to write this poem.
