The Hearths of December

In the chokehold
of a sweltering
August night
  I fondly recall
  the soft glow
  of the embers
  of the hearths
  of December

A very beautiful one. I've not read your poems for some time now, though I read the ones that appear in the contests. Your poems are beautiful.

Ah, we are living in hell these days lol... Temperature 44, 45°. It is hard for us to think about the beautiful cold nights of December, a hot cup of coffee, and a walm blanket... Haha A great write Wolf

OMG, that's hot, Paghunda. One of my sons, who lives in a desert-like area in the Middle East, complains of 40 - 41! Hang in there; it's a long, hot summer, as they say. ~ Remember December!, gw
