The Heart Thumps Blue

Crashing like thunder, cannon fire resounds,
Pounding on the shaken walls of the heart, lamenting:
War crawls into a bottle of red wine,
Poisoning the yearning heart;
The heart thumps blue.

Crashing like thunder, cannon fire resounds,
Smoke coils up to the heavens.
A haunting smile and familiar embrace,
A ferreting heart longs for
A cracking bonfire,
A time to embrace:
A feather touch, a kiss on the flying ebony tress,
A molten kiss drowns in the drunken sunset,
Slowly sinking down the horizon,
As the last fleeting rays dim;
The heart thumps blue.

Let winds lull the blackened field
The stars fall one by one,
Into the deep night;
Searching for the starlit lover
The heart thumps blue.
