The Heart

The Heart
The heart calls softly, gently in the evening
when the stars begin to glitter and glow in the sky.

The twilight sends clouds away
along the evening sky bright and clear
as it traces a trail throughout the heavens.

The heart sings and beckons my dreams
to flood my mind, touching my innermost being.

The heart whispers
  forcing the ear to hear,
  the eyes to see.

There is no escape
as a cloudy midnight brushes across the soul.

In that darkness the spirit seeks hope and promises
 as the heart calls again
waiting patiently for signs of love.
