The Happiness Tree

Cloudy days are a real test They can drag our spirits down But I'm usually up for the challenge In my role as the village clown My goal is to bring a great big smile To a bunch of faces each day What better way to spend my energy Than to chase all the blues away If we could all get with the program What a happy place this could be Instead of a bunch of sour pusses We would climb the happiness tree Not saying I have all the answers We've got lots of problems on earth Hope we're headed in the right direction Let's celebrate the world's rebirth Cloudy days are a real test They can drag our spirits down But this guy won't let the blues inside You won't catch me wearing a frown © Jack Ellison 2014

My Pa said I fell of the Turnip Truck and bounced... on down the road. But They say I gave a blessing for every bounce, or so they told. It's said you can't keep a good gal down as I learned to bounce higher, along my way. I even tickled the birdies feet as I learned to soar that day. Apparently, bouncing became a fad as I met my neighbors high, up there. I would have bounced forever, if Grandpa Troll hadn't picked me from the air. Now I ride up above the clouds spreading laughter where we go.

Let's celebrate the world's rebirth. One of the finest poems I have ever read.A comedian is the most competent doctor who can chase off our blues. I have firsthand experience. So you are right. Clowns are noble. They nurse our frayed soul. A good message for modern day world. Kudos to village clown. Love Jack

Wow!!! Quite an amazing compliment you paid me!!! In my humble opinion, it was a bit overstated but I accept it gracefully nonetheless! Thank you very much my friend! Jack
