The Happiness a Comment Brings

Happiness to me can be found in even the strangest of dark places As any comment to me Even if it's only just for someone to have a go and criticize my point of view and what i have wrote about Is a million times better than no comment at all To me a comments a comment even if it's not a compliment or a bad one Who am i to say i and what i write about is right All i know and think is that individual cared enough to take the time to read and comment in the 1st place So gratefully cheers regards much obliged and my sincere appreciation thanking you very much to anyone who has ever read and commented on a poem i wrote The heart wants what the heart wants and any form of comment brings me untold happiness and yearning for my next As personally a comment to me is a writters best friend And as i have so very far and few i am often forced to call upon that age old idiom in barron times It's not all about the quantity but the quality

Cheers Jennifer as always thank you very much i am excited and appreciate every time i see a comment from you. And not just because they are so positive and inspirational but because they are genuine and i respect your opinion I especially loved and was taken aback when you said you couldn't understand why i didn't have many reader's ir comments as my poetry was unique and clever. Silence is golden Christopher, you get used to it here on the soup, but I don’t mind, perhaps some people don’t want to engage and that’s fine by me, I myself leave comments sometimes through intrigue other times genuinely because I’m blown away by the poem, maybe if we become paying members we’d get more, cheers David

In fairness Jan you do comment on my poems and I personally appreciate the feedback, I was just saying to Christopher that if we paid for our membership we might get more, through the extra exposure it brings, but as he pointed out doing so might mean lip service that nobody wants cheers David

Rather to be respected David and think or believe a poem earned or was worthy of reading than read just because i paid for it to be. The best poet's on here are fully paid up life members not just their soup membership

I comment to people with or without a PM it is the quality of the poem which inspires me to read . Traffic has got to be at an all time low, comments and read have reduced dramatically since before covid arrived, write on both of you:-) hugs Jan xx

Your ears must have been burning David. I've remained or never joined or become a Premium Member. Despite all the added benefits membership allows i feel it in some way lessens or diminishes value if it can be somehow bought. I don't want to be highlighted or given free publicity or given preferential treatment above someone else far more deserving just because i paid to become a premium member as that has no value to me.

Chris comments are like hen's teeth no idea what is happening (except covid) but the site is like a graveyard . I'm not as active on the site as i'd like at the moment but try and comment when i can. much prefer genuine comments not ones where folk havent even read the poem and write some twaddle just trying to get folk to read them so they will get potd! keep on spilling the ink:-) hugs jan xx

As someone who hardly ever gets any i can't honestly tell the difference Jan But like you said quality rather than generic response to try and garber support for themselves. Its the 1 thing where the covid excuse doesnt fly it should in reality increase reading or traffic to fill the extra time void
