The Hand of Fate

When reality confronts death, a sadness envelops your soul. And fear snatches away your breath, for your life no longer feels whole. Losing half your soul feels unfair, facing a future filled with dread. And yet, you're no longer a pair, for love no longer shares your bed. When your loss is too much to bear, you look for peace inside a book. But loneliness follows you there, for faith can't replace what death took. Fear fuels anxiety's climb, taking emotions to extremes. And crying for the umpteenth time, tears wash away forever dreams. You feel confused and overwrought, crushed by the fickle hand of fate. For emotionally distraught, you're all alone, without your mate.

Your simplicity in words does convey emotional images: "Yet you are no longer a pair, for he has abandoned your bed." and "When the hurt becomes hard to bare you try to hide inside a book. Yet loneliness follows you there". Well done , Emile.
