The Guilty Father
Lying in a prison cell bed, she hoped all fear and the secret would vanish
The night of her wedding forgotten now that she had killed her father in law
The horrors that curse her dreams this night
awakes her with bleeding tears
burning scars into cheeks
Despairing at the glow of the silver lit moon
Not wanting to stir the monsters that taunt
Nor the memories of guilt that surely will haunt
For in the dark lie secrets that loom
Revenge did not ease
The pain of violation
The Tyrant she killed
Her husband still unaware
His father, the guilty one
