The Green Scene

Grass is green, they say it's true
But green ain't just a simple hue
Green's the colour, green's the life
Green's the struggle, green's the strife

Some folks green with envy's sting
While others green up everything
We green our planet, plant by plant
But some just green their pockets, can't you understand?

The grass is green on the other side
That's what they say to green-eyed pride
But green behind the ears, you'll find
Is just as common in mankind

Green lights flash, go ahead and grow
Green energy, let that green flow
But don't be green, all naive and new
When green-backs talk, some values skew

The grass is green, a verdant scene
But green ideas are far between
We need to green our thinking too
Not just the lawns we trudge through

So let's get green, in every way
Green up our acts, don't delay
'Cause grass is green, and so should we
In thought, indeed, in what we see

The green movement's not just for show
It's how we reap and how we sow
So plant your feet on green, green grass
And make this green world kick some grass!

Remember, when we say the grass is green
It's more than lawns that we should mean
Green's the future, green's the now
To green up life, we must learn how

So let the grass be green, it's true
But let us all be green-hearted too
For in this world of greed and haste
A green mindset is a thing to taste!
