The Green of Summer
Gone was the green of summer
though I never knew it so
wrapped in your mother's quilt
it never loved you more
Precious velvet ribbon dreams
left by a devoted lover
golden sunlit stitch in seams
fingers touching light all over
Caught watching an intimate moment
fiercely attentive to your task
long fingers delicately soothing
glorious calfling that you grasped
You have my word I'll come looking
though never by light of day
Pray Taurus and Orion may stop clashing
for two huddled under mid winter's sky
