The Great Debater
I am the great debater, and the world my only stage
I prime my proper thoughts preparing for the lone spotlight
I revel in religious rants that rage across the page
while I oppose audacious offal torn from tongues I fight.
I am the great orator, on the altar I dictate
which paltry pandered profferings that I choose to destroy
with volumous vernacular aimed always at the state
the off'ring of opponent's offense crumbles like a toy.
I am the master of my words in argument sublime
with chilling winds of wisdom I send blizzards to the fore
my avalanche cascades as counterpoints are caked with rime
I am the great debater, and shall be forevermore.
Written in septanary meter.
