The Gravity of Failing and Falling Things
Listen to poem:
The Gravity of Failing and Falling Things
David J Walker
The equation of a Once and Done
is not a number
The door we entered
is not there anymore
The air is stale and the sunlit room
is shaded
Works in words have faded
into foreign phrases
With both old
and bolder meaning
Dissonance is the new order
of the old orchestra conductor
It has come to mind that the
Thing about every yesterday seeks
A fresh answer to
ancient questions
When Gravity falls
All fail
To make complete confessions
When Gravity fails
All fall
But in diverse directions
