The Goofy Truth
well it's obvious by now 13 millennia later
that they don't know who wrote the program
seems to be a mud wrestling match between
the world of wish and the world of requirement
I always really meant to love you
is not much of a defense in a world run amok
with data and a donkey sled ride to the goofy truth
if you ponder what it might mean to consider
a defining of the best human characteristic
impossible almost by definition
due to the many variations
some of a whispy permanence
it becomes an oath and oaths must be kept
which requires a selection process
which is off the maps by a continent or two
with a delicious manic indifference to danger
after an invitation by the Gods of Whim
I remain firmly convinced that an oath to truth
will manifest like a skidding big rig as the good
frankly the egomaniac is the preferred foe
a painted into the corner self pinned to the past
with a deadening insatiability therein derived
insatiable is stupid and that's the bottom line
of any discourse where physiology is a bent nail
who among us cannot be outwitted
that is the leveling device working the shadows
yet history still has much to teach
personal history would be the zero in
as well as the ironico-legal evidence of misuse
you can take that in any slippery way
your intrepid fibers demand
