Notes About The Poem

Thanks to a special friend for encouraging me to enter this contest

The Good, the Bad and the Special About Me

I enjoy making people smile Folk enjoy my quirky fun style If someone's feeling down I will reverse their frown With silly poems that I compile I’m awful at cleaning my house When vacuuming I’ll moan and grouse Dust I just ignore Cleaning is a bore I’d rather spend time with my spouse! My special qualities; now let me see A good listener to those who need me I am a loyal friend The truth I will defend I value the virtue of honesty The good, the bad and the special about YOU poetry Contest Sponsored by Eve Roper 03/03/20

My most beautiful ancestor, Sarah Lawson, was from Bradden, where her ancestors lived more than 400-years ago, so forget about the dust (your muse could be a speck) and keep writing! We all need a laugh! Aloha! Rico

wow, jan! i think you've described yourself to a T (your second verse sounds a lot like me!) and have done so in a very classy and poetic way. i hope you're right at the top of the winners' list in the contest...

Nicely written Jan. Your humor always brings a smile to your readers and this one is special, not a single poop mention anywhere. Best wishes in the contest.

Dearest, Jan, this is so very true about you. I can also add, from my expeerience, of you...you are not a 'sometimes' friend. I find you remarkably honest and you ooze integrity. Both qualities~ make you a great Poet, on top of your poetry and you show no arrogance. I hope you get first place. Panagiota xx

Oh some would definitely disagree about me being a great poet lol - I never ever dreamed I would ever write so starting when hubby had cancer and enjoying writing is a huge shock to me on many levels. I have learned so much since joining the site and I will continue to try and make folk smile. As you will see from my poems i don't take myself seriously i even poke fun at myself with my writing, i just want to have fun and rest assured I am here until i can no longer pick up a pen!:-) hugs Jan x
