The Girl Won'T Stay

THE GIRL WON'T STAY Her innocence long gone, she's tossed aside her hair, revealing eyes in Heaven's shade of blue. She's told you all her life, in just the words of simple prayer, but you believe what she's not telling you. In fashion with the times, her dress is clinging there onto your bedpost like it's meant to stay. She sings for you her song, and you willl hear it ev'rywhere not realizing it won't go away. In profile is her beauty as she's sleeping there, though lightly, she could waken in a blink. in reaching for her mind you find it's more than you should dare she'd take away whatever you could think. You loose yourself to fair and fineness of her hair, believing God is real, you close your eyes, and thank Him for this night, though it goes to nowhere, it's part of you, the part that never dies.
