The Girl Who Waited
All this time I’ve waited
Not knowing who it’d be
A thousand years I stood in stone
“A fool” they’d all called me
But, I feel you in my heart
I feel you in my soul
I just don't know who you are yet
Though worth the price I pay,
This time, it takes its toll.
In truthfulness, I’ve had my doubts.
I’ve cried so many tears.
“Will they come?” id ask myself
Afraid to speak my fears
Then reaches down the hands of the gods
And wipe my tears away
“Listen now, my child” they whisper
“You can make another day”
So again I stood,
Do as they say
They would not lead me wrong
Although im tired,
And my heart is sore..
Ill wait, til she comes along.
