The Girl Who Stands Alone

Out from the darkness Out from the cold Her life is hell A battle to overcome Victory is accounting the tears she has shed Walking into crowds of unknown People sip their wine without recognizing Though you don't know her, your mind is recalling In the depth of time Planned beforehand, she conserved herself for you Then hoping in her sadness shame It was just as it was She waited like the last time Believing you would not go that far That time was wrong You see, she's the girl who stands alone Disguising her hurt, crying all alone And if she cannot speak a line Will you just walk on by? Leaving her behind, to break her once more inside She blushes in the silent room The clock bangs, and beats the hours Another chapter reveals her darkness Her golden green eyes see right through you Reading every feeling that you feel But can you understand what she's going through? Or is your judgement the fatalism of her? She's the girl who stands alone Killing her inside, but she won't let it show There is no accounting then for my regret That you were someone else's And if I smile, I can say knowing that somewhere you believed me Only an empty shadow knows There is no accounting then for my request That you were someone else's I cannot forget and I can say Knowing that somewhere you believed me Once is for all time You see, she's the girl who stands alone Separated from the rest Facing the world on her own Yes, she's the one, the girl who stands alone...
