The Gift of Words

The Gift of Words

As I picture these words from a rocky ledge,
From where I imagine rows of sounds
and lines,
Covering a form, a sequence, in succession,
Composing or deciding to
Watch everyday life and rhyme,
In a world of words
of every kind…

What a gift these words that occupy
This space, this time, set to define
What limit or shape,
Arranged to create
meaning
from imagination

Oh words of thoughts and words of ideas
Moving on like a vapor,
Like a flavor,
Poured and sipped,
Like a nice cup of tea.

I do some of my best thinking over a good cuppa with the taste of a word or two.
