The ghost of passion

The ghost of passion swirls in my soul
      he who elicited it all from me has fled this earthly place
         his corporeal self still haunts my days and my nights
                     consoling and bringing tears a new
                           Impossible pain is grief
                       memories wrapped in longing
            sprinkled with thoughts of missed opportunities
                     and guilt from paths not chosen
                     and yet its all I have of him now

I felt so much, reading this very poignant and touching write that depicts grief and loss in such an eloquent manner, i especially loved the lines “ memories wrapped in longing sprinkled with thoughts of missed opportunities“ your way with phrasing thoughts is so poetic.
