The Gateway

I've found the gateway to peace and contentment
    for which I have searched many years.
I can find answers to life's many problems
   and comfort for sorrow and tears.
I looked to myself for the strength that I needed
   and came up short most of the time.
I tried to find joy in the world and it's pleasures
   but found neither reason nor rhyme.
Now Christ is my hope and since I am His
   He fills every part of my life.
He is the gateway to peace and contentment
   my strength during turmoil and strife.
In Him is love, joy and compassion
   in Him is salvation and grace,
So enter the gateway into His presence
   and take ye your eternal place.
