The Gates of Death

Reading to him line after line
Word after word
She closely watches him as he sleeps
Pain free and peaceful
Comfortable and prepared

Heart rate fading
Color changing
Temperature cooling
Respirations irregular, apneic, shallow....repeats. Then stops

The man who only talked of God
The man who only believed in One
The man who lived his life by His words

The spirit rises
There is calmness in the room
The heaven's gates open, welcoming him to a celebration
Forever home with his Father
