The Garden In My Mind

When the winds blow cold and bleak
And the snow is white and deep
There's a warm place I can find
In the garden of my mind

In this garden in my mind
Grows the lovely columbine
Pansies, phlox and bluebells grow
Blocking dreary thoughts of snow

I have a yellow rose tree
A bed of tulips red
A host of golden daffodils
Growing near my shed

The buttercups and daisies
Are sprouting on the lawn
And somewhere in the shady dell
There sleeps a tiny fawn

I cultivate the lettuce
Tomatoes and the corn
And tiny sparrows greet me
In the sunrise of the morn

The cherry blossoms overhead
Rain down their charms on me
And I think of all the lovely fruit
That soon will come to be

The sun shines on the garden
That grows inside my head
And clears away the dreary thoughts
Of winter months ahead

Outstanding! Love places like that as I too have them in my head LOL Excellent imagery and the rhyme is perfect! Michael
