Eve ate the sweet, Forbidden Fruit
Almighty God forbade her to.
That asp, the Devil, was the root;
had caused mankind's corrupt debut.
Almighty God forbade her to;
but Serpent's vile, malicious tongue
had caused mankind's corrupt debut.
Upon its promise, Eve had clung.
But Serpent's vile, malicious tongue
led her to crave the 'Knowledge' gift.
Upon its promise, Eve had clung...
from Garden's haven, she would drift.
Led her to crave the 'Knowledge' gift;
forbidden Apple she did eat.
From Garden's haven she would drift;
to grasp God's power, chose defeat.
Forbidden Apple she did eat;
her husband, Adam, took his share.
To grasp God's power, chose defeat,
and, Adam joined her in the snare.
Her, husband, Adam, took his share;
together they would know all things.
And Adam joined her in the snare,
to want more than their Garden brings.
Together they would know all things.
But God was angry and declared,
to want more than their Garden brings,
from earthly woes, they'll not be spared.
But God was angry and declared,
from Paradise, you now must flee.
From earthy woes, you'll not be spared,
for you have eaten from the Tree.
From Paradise, you now must flee,
life's toil and hardship you will earn,
for you have eaten from the Tree.
He, Lucifer, in hell, will burn.
Life's toil and hardship you will earn.
That asp, the Devil, was the root.
He, Lucifer, in hell, will burn...
Eve ate the sweet, Forbidden Fruit.
