The Game Made From Darkness

Fear, A mysterious word from the mist of night, The word you think of when darkness or monsters, Ghosts or death, Every horror is brought to mind. Some think you can play with fear, Test it, See if you're scared at all by whatever it throws at you. But it is not wise to make something so powerful, Something where your nightmares are born, Something so dangerous, Angry. To test fear is to test the beings from the darkest reaches of your mind. Pulling at its strings will do you no good. Ignoring its warnings will pay you no heed. The ones who don't know true fear, The ones who have danced around the darkness, Careless in their ways, Do not know what they are playing with. And when they do trip, They are but at the mercy of what they have angered. Of course, to mess with fear is one thing, To overcome it is another. The ones who know true fear, Who might have stared death in the eye, Have seen others at the brink of oblivion, They know that you can't be careless, But also that you don't have to think of fear either. People who have seen the worst, They are the ones who are found laughing, For when they overcame their fear, All they could do is smile. Now fear never likes it when people beat it, But it understands. It knows what it puts people through, And while angered by the laughing, It can do nothing. So, never test the wise puppet of darkness, But you can beat it if you do it right, And when laughing in the face of fear, You know happiness is just within your reach.
