The Gal From the City
My lady the time is drawing near,
Soon the answers to all your questions to my absence will be made clear.
No, I truly did not want to go,
It wasn't my choice this I have to let you know.
I always held in my mind that sweet memory,
Of the mountain man and the gal from the city.
And so my lady I ask you to please wait patiently,
I will return to you my gal from the city.
