The Future Starts Now
Darkened clouds danced mightily for days
thunder shook and lightning struck
children took cover and old men wept
finally the clouds stubbornly have been pushed away
a loving sea breeze takes anchor
and warms a chilly day
I stand on the shore captivated by her beauty
hues of orange and red fill a brand new sky
a salty mist caresses my lips
"somewhere over the rainbow where blue birds fly"
resonates in my mind
Reminding that there is hope
and it's going to be okay
White foam surf crashes into me
and I can't help but smile for
The past is long gone
and the future starts now
