The Funny Thing About the Way Kids Think
Mommy I don't want to nap, I'd rather go and play
I know my eyes look tired but I could go all day
Mommy don't you get it? There's way too much to do
So let's forego the nap and take a road trip to the zoo
Mommy put me down and don't you put me in my bed
I told you I'm not sleepy, have you heard a word I said?
Mommy you're not listening, so now I'm gonna scream
I'm way too tired for a nap so how about ice cream?
Mommy don't you walk away, I shall not be ignored
I still won't fall asleep, I know where the toys are stored
Mommy are you singing now, you know I like that song
It still won't make me go to sleep, so I'll just sing along
Mommy now I'm yawning and my eyes are closing tight
But I promise I am wide awake...
I'm sleepy now...
Night night...
