The Frozen Years

Those arctic North winds blow My blood feels almost sub-zero Even if it freezes in my veins and a heart of ice remains I'll be numb to it all drowning in a frozen water fall Because my mind's in a dream ignorant to her icy scream My breath turns to fog before my eyes Mixed with smoke, swirling as it flies Walking through the field covered with snow There is only one pitiful thought to know A brief glimpse of a picture in my mind of the goal I once longed to find An accomplishment that soon faded to tears that sill plague these frozen years I may have been complete for a while walking fast with that stupid smile But it ended just as it came to be A bloodthirsty beast deep in me Now the pills numb the cold as I grow dead more than grow old and I now live in arctic tears from her icy scream in the frozen years Summer faded into falling ice The cut grew deeper within Now I'm paying a frozen price for my cold heart of sin Our love never had a chance to grow Broken before it's time Now it's covered deep in snow As the ice clings and shines
