We are the fortunate ones. The rare air we breathe Contains our will to be aware Thoughts of life that carry The perfumed hours beckoning, To still the mystery of our birthing. Each moment’s reckoning Fraught with loss from eon’s strife, Taught from lesson’s closest To the hearts most natural love. Eyes outside their sockets reaching. Whispers pooled from longings deep To ears that hear no outward sound. The ether now designed awakens All silent yearnings. Each heart developing newer learnings. Flowers from all mornings first begun, Children from the summers endless sun, For such as this to brave what future comes, We are the fortunate ones
