The Forsaken

The stars will fade into the night, A thousand things lost in the fight, And what is left but silver light, That soon will perish through evil's rite. The Darkness overturned so much, It mars what good is left, and such Is Evil spreading gripping clutch, It kills all things; by feel, by touch. The battle is fought, we cannot win, He leers at us with evil grin, While Enemies seek foes to pin, Doomed as we are to fail, to ruin. The cold draws closer, and flee we must, Abandon earth, forsake our trust, For Death's dark greed has turned to lust, And we can do no more for dust.

This speaks volumes and we, as a species can do better. Well penned.

Wow, I love the ambiguous element of this poem, how it gradually grows clearer. It is VERY good
