The Forgotten
When there's no-one left in this living world to remember you, you disappear into the world of the non living
You become part of that which is not extinct but no longer living
no longer a memory
No place in the future no longer in the present and no longer a part of the past
How can you remain relevant when at some point in time we will all be forgotten
That time will come when we will all become just a memory and then a forgotten memory
And then what
No one can live forever
In fact not even someone's memories can live forever
Even the most famous, one day will be forgotten
Will become nothing but a has been or a used to be
They say memories never die but how many memories can we remember
How many memories can we store in our minds
Do the old ones get replaced by the new
Do we pile them up by date by titles by significance
When the time comes and we start forgetting and replacing special unforgettable moments
Then we too might realise that we may have been forgotten
