The Forbidden Space Where I Keep You Untouched

The Forbidden Space Where I Keep You Untouched

I have no voice left to call your name without breaking the world,
no future where my hands are clean enough to hold you,
without leaving bloodstains on your white and pure skin,
all I have are written words in my forbidden space,

Where I allow myself to be human for the first time again,
here you exist only for me untouched by my monster,
untouched by the world that destroys all beauty in its path,
untouched by the ending I have already seen coming,

I have locked you between the last pieces of my innocence,
I have reserved you in the corner of my heart I don't destroy,
from this space I will not give the world any fragment of you,
the world will take my name my future but it won't take you,

Here you are whole protected from the path I walk upon,
here you sleep in the arms that destroy all the rest of the world,
here you wake in the smile I hide from everyone else,
here you live in the lies that keep you far from truth,

In this space you are the proof I was more than just war,
and when the earth trembles beneath my heavy steps on ash,
when history writes me as devil instead of man with soul,
let this place remember what the world will never know,

That before I became the end I loved someone with all my being,
before I lost my soul I had a heart that beat for you,
before I became the monster I was the man who adored you truly,
I kept you in the only clean room of my ruined castle,

Where my words protect you from the cruel reality,
where your name is the only song I still sing anymore,
I hid you in the place where no one can ever find you,
because you are the only sacred thing I keep safe,

The world will take all I am but won't take the fragment of you,
that lives in the space between the words that call your name,
and when it all ends and I'm forgotten forever by everyone,
you will remain the proof I was more than war and destruction.
